A psalm to Asaph.

1 God stood in the congregation of gods; [²in ³the midst ¹and] of gods he examines. 2 For how long will you judge injustice, and [²persons ³of sinners ¹receive]? 3 Judge for the orphan, and the poor! [²to the humble ³and ⁴needy ¹Do justice]! 4 Deliver the needy and the poor! [³from ⁴the hand ⁵of the sinner ¹rescue ²him]! 5 They did not know, nor perceived. [²in ³darkness ¹They travel]. [⁶shall be shaken ¹All ²the ³foundations ⁴of the ⁵earth]. 6 I said, You are gods, and [²sons ³of the highest ¹all]. 7 But you [²as ³men ¹die]; and [²as ³one ⁴of the ⁵rulers ¹fall]. 8 Rise up, O God, judge the earth! for you shall inherit among all the nations.
